Fascar
As a boy I spent many hours playing with my friends in a dirt pile next to my home. We both would bring out our collection of Matchbox cars and then develop roads, tunnels and highways for our imaginary city. Then we would spend hours driving our favorite cars in the city and through the country roads we created. Those were the good old days! Fast forward to the 21 century and mix some creative juices in and you get Fascar.
Fascar…a takeoff on NASCAR…using Hot Wheels cars on a six lane wood track. Each lane has an electronic eye at the end of the track that reads the time of each car to the thousands of a second. That time data is fed to a computer which records the times for each racer throughout the day. Each race is projected to a large screen so racers can see when they are racing and their times. Large screens hooked to video cameras showed each race up close and personal…amazing excitement for the whole. Here is a video of what it might look like in your church:
Best of all this is an event you can run in your local church. Word of Life will help you organize this as a powerful tool for outreach and provide a children’s evangelist to speak but be prepared for dad, mom, grandpas and grandmas to come to Christ as well.
